Van smashes into house in Ainsdale, roads blocked off
Serious RTC in Ainsdale with Meadow Lane completely blocked off and part of Sandbrook Road.
Sefton Bubble have been told by a resident that the driver of a van, crashed into a parked vehicle and then drove straight through a garden wall hitting a house. There is now a possibility of a gas leak. We believe the driver to have been taken away by Air Ambulance earlier.
Multi emergency vehicles still on scene with surrounding roads blocked off.
Update at 12:40pm: The van is still attached to the house. We believe they must be checking house for structural damage.
Upaste at 13:10hrs:
The emergency services are now taking big timbers into the front of house now leading us to believe that it must be structurally unsafe.
Update at 14:06hrs:
The van has now been removed from the house.
Sefton Council said: “Following an incident where a large van drove into Springbrook residential unit (for children & young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities), we can confirm that the property, which is in Ainsdale, was empty at the time of the incident and nobody was hurt.”
We will keep you updated on the situation.
