Urgent Public Meeting about Proposed A&E Relocation which could have Serious Impact on Sefton Residents
Residents of north Sefton, in particular Formby, Ainsdale, Birkdale and Southport are urged to attend a critical public meeting to discuss the proposed relocation of the Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department from Southport & Formby Hospital to Ormskirk Hospital. This significant change, which has not been widely publicised, poses serious concerns for Formby residents, particularly regarding access to emergency care.
The relocation would require Formby residents to travel across ‘The Moss', a rural route with narrow roads flanked by deep ditches. While dangerous at the best of times, these roads become treacherous in the winter months due to ice, presenting a heightened risk for those seeking urgent care. This added difficulty could have a detrimental impact on the health and safety of the local community, particularly for vulnerable residents needing quick access to emergency services.
The meeting will be held on:
Monday, 30th September 2024
5:30pm to 7:00pm
at Holy Trinity Church,
Rosemary Lane,
Formby
L37 3HA.
This is an important opportunity for the public to learn more about the proposed changes, voice their concerns, and understand how this could affect healthcare in the region.
With lives potentially at risk due to increased travel times and hazardous roads, it is crucial that residents.
