Two men and a woman arrested after weapons, cash and large quantity of Class A drugs seized in Sefton

Merseyside Police have arrested two men and a woman after weapons, cash and a large quantity of class A drugs were seized in #Bootle.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police sai: “At around 3pm yesterday (Monday 24 January), police on Quigley Drive spotted two men riding push bikes away from the patrols at speed and carrying a large backpack.”

“Officers stopped the two men on Bridle Road after spotting them again on the bikes without the backpacks.”

“Police searched both men and found around £1,400 in cash, a knife and cannabis they were carrying.”

“Both men, aged 36 and 34 from St Helens and Bootle, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Cannabis Class B drug, and possession of criminal property. The 36-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed weapon.”

“They were taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives and have since been released for investigation.”

“Following the arrest, officers then searched an address in Bootle where they found large amounts of what was suspected to be cocaine, scales, cannabis, a large sword, bags used to carry drugs and cannabis oil. Each item was taken by police for testing.”

“A 33-year-old woman from Bootle who was at the house was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and was later released under investigation.”

Detective Inspector Matthew Kerr said: “Thanks to the vigilance of our officers who spotted the two men we have made three arrests and taken a large amount of dangerous drugs off the streets.”

“This proves how dedicated we are in removing any drugs that could seriously affect residents and spread misery in our communities.”

“If you have any information about suspected drug dealing in your area please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
