Police appeal for information following attempted burglary of a Building Society in Southport
Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted burglary of the Nationwide Building Society in Southport on Friday 13 January.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: “At around 6.50pm, offices were called to a report that two men attempted to force entry to the front door of Nationwide Building Society on London Street using a metal bar.”
“No threats were made or injuries caused, and the suspects made off in a red Ford Fiesta.”
“CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out, and anyone with any information or dashcam footage of the incident is asked to contact police.”
Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attempted burglary, or may have noticed something suspicious to please get in touch.”
“We also urge people to please check your CCTV and dashcam for footage of the red Ford Fiesta in the area from 6.30pm onwards to please share this with us.”
“Any information, no matter how small, will help the investigation to help bring the offenders to justice.”
