Personal Assistant Carer Job -
A local family are looking for a female personal assistant to support their lovely 16yr old daughter who is non-verbal with significant learning and physical disabilities. They hope to build a team of carers who can support them and each other in the care of their daughter.
The support required includes but is not limited to;
Changing clothes, washing or bathing, changing and personal cares.
Administering some food, fluids and medicines via a gastrostomy.
Use of slings and hoist for transfers, training will be provided.
Feeding meals and snacks orally.
An awareness of seizures and use of rescue medication, although training will be provided.
The hours they require vary between school, weekends and school holidays and is negotiable. The preference would be 2hrs in the morning starting at 06:30am on school days, slightly later at weekends. 4-6hrs Saturday and Sunday afternoon into evening including the bedtime routine. There may be a need to cover other PAs holidays and there would be extra hours during school holidays.
You would be joining a small team of carers, who have been working with the family for the last 12 years but now wish to start reducing their hours.
The perfect candidate would be kind, trustworthy, excellent communication skills, punctual, comfortable working with people with significant learning and physical difficulties, good sense of humour and a positive outlook.
Rate of pay is £15 per hour.
