Merseyside Police have confirmed that a man has been charged following several reports of suspicious and indecent behaviour around children in #Crosby.
Last month, officers received multiple reports of a male acting inappropriately near school pupils, including incidents in Coronation Park and close to a local high school.
Following these reports, a thorough investigation was launched, and increased patrols were deployed in the area to reassure the local community and safeguard young people.
As a result of the enquiries, Richard Seddon, 51, of Hyde Road, Waterloo, was arrested and has now been charged with two counts of committing an act of outraging public decency.
He has been bailed and is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 17th April.
Inspector Ray Mavrakakis of Merseyside Police said:
“We understand how concerning these reports have been for the local community, particularly parents and schools.”
“I want to reassure residents that we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously. Patrols were stepped up in the area while investigations took place, and we will continue to maintain a visible presence to ensure the safety and confidence of the public.”
Police are continuing to encourage anyone with information or concerns to come forward. You can report to @MerPolCC, call 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
