Maghull Railway Station Crowned Best Railway Station in Great Britain in the ‘World Cup of Stations 2024’
We are thrilled to announce that Liverpool City Region’s #Maghull Station has won the coveted title of Britain’s Best Railway Station in the “World Cup of Stations 2024” national grand final! Merseyrail proudly shared the exciting news after last Friday’s final vote, where Maghull triumphed over strong competitors, King’s Lynn and Dorridge.
This year’s contest celebrated the vibrant businesses enriching communities across Great Britain’s train stations—spotlighting delis, florists, and cafes that contribute to the local economy and community spirit.
Maghull’s win is largely credited to its exceptional station team, dedicated volunteers, and the beloved café, The Coffee Carriage. Opened in 2024 by two local entrepreneurs, this welcoming café quickly became a community favourite, offering artisan coffees, bakes, and a warm space for residents and commuters alike.
Merseyrail and The Coffee Carriage team extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted and helped bring this prestigious recognition to Maghull.
