Hero neighbours battle a blaze after chilling attack in Waterloo
Two thugs kicked a man's door down, stabbed him with "machetes" and set his house on fire, according to witnesses. Hero neighbours battled the blaze with water buckets after the chilling attack in Willoughby Road, Waterloo, shortly before 11pm yesterday.
The road remained blocked to vehicles this morning while a property near the junction with South Road was cordoned off with police tape. Residents reported fire engines and police cars descending on the scene, and this morning a green tarpaulin had been placed over the front of a terraced property.
An eye witness told the Bubble: “I was driving down Willoughby Road and noticed smoke coming out of a house so i stopped, it transpires that two men had burst into the house, and seriously attacked the occupant with a machete of sorts then set fire to the house, I didnt see who done it but the guy was covered in blood with what appeared to be serious lacerations. I helped put the fire out by running in and out of the house with buckets of water while other neighbours assisted the victim.”
“I have given my full name and address to the police. I just want to highlight how bad things are getting around here.”
