Brand new £1.1 million state-of-the-art veterinary surgery to open in Sefton
A brand new state-of-the-art veterinary surgery is set to open at the end of December on Southport Road in #Southport to care for pets in the local area.
The new £1.1 million Southport Vets complex will occupy a large 3,000 square ft. building within Kew Retail Park and will house the very latest veterinary facilities and equipment.
Four consulting rooms are being installed to offer a significant number of vet and nurse appointments, along with a spacious operating theatre, and a specialist dental suite. The site will also house an in-house laboratory and digital x-ray facilities. To keep stress to a minimum for patients, the practice will have a spacious reception area with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, in addition to separate dog and cat hospital wards. New walk-in kennels are also being built for larger dog breeds.
Two highly skilled veterinary surgeons will initially work at the new practice, eventually growing to a team of five over the coming years. They will be able to care for a wide range of companion animals including dogs, cats, rabbits and small mammals. They will collectively offer a wide range of veterinary services such as; vaccinations, surgery and dentistry, X-ray, hospitalisation for day cases, and blood and urine testing. In addition, three veterinary nurses and two patient care advisors will join the eight-strong Southport Vets team, to run clinics and look after the practice’s clients and their pets.
Southport Vets will also run The Healthy Pet Club to offer pet owners peace of mind that they can give their puppy, kitten, cat, dog or rabbit the best when it comes to preventative health treatment. The Club offers a range of regular veterinary-prescribed preventative measures and treatments, including six monthly health checks, annual vaccinations, monthly high quality flea and worming treatments, 10% off vet fees, and fixed price dental work. By joining the club, members can save up to £200 a year on fees and treatments and the cost of checks and treatments are spread out every month.
Charlotte Dobson, Regional Director at Southport Vets, said: “We know that there are a great many pets of a wide variety in Southport. So we wanted to build this new practice in the heart of the community to offer the best levels of care for these animals. Our amazing new facilities and the experience and skills of our friendly vet team mean we’ll be able to look after many more pets, providing quality care, surgery and treatments right here – along with regular check-ups and routine procedures.”
The new Southport Vets practice is prominently located on Kew Retail Park to provide easy access and ample parking to clients and animal patients. Full disabled access has also been built. It is anticipated to open in December and its opening hours will be Monday to Friday 09.00am until 18.30pm. The new surgery’s website will launch towards the end of November to early December enabling local pet owners to register their pets online. To register, interested clients can complete the registration form on our website at southport-vets.co.uk/register.
