Bootle Man Jailed for Class A Drug Offenses
A man from Bootle has been jailed for five years after admitting being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.
Keith Tallant, 41, of Benedict Street, pleaded guilty to four offences and was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday 29 November.
He was sentenced for:
- Being concerned in the supply of heroin
- Being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine
- Possession with intent to supply heroin
- Possession with intent to supply crack cocaine
Officers from Operation Toxic launched an investigation into a drugs operation that was supplying Class A drugs between Bootle and Southport from May to October 2024.
Tallant was identified as the prime suspect and a warrant was carried out at his home in October where a mobile phone controlling the drugs plot was recovered along with a quantity of heroin and crack cocaine. He was subsequently arrested and charged with the various offences.
Operation Toxic is part of Project Medusa - a Merseyside-led initiative set up to tackle suspected County Lines drug dealing and child criminal exploitation across the country.
Detective Sergeant Ged Farley said: “We identified Tallant as the person behind this drugs operation and due to the weight of evidence we were able to produce, he pleaded guilty to the offences.
"We know the devastation that drugs cause and Merseyside Police remains relentless in our pursuit of these criminals and ending their drugs trade.”
“Project Medusa and teams across the force are working day in, day out, to tackle drug dealing and the exploitation of young, vulnerable people in our communities.”
“Information from the public is vital to continue to breakdown the organised crime groups who bring misery to our streets, and I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward.”
