Baby in Sefton sadly passed away after being airlifted to hospital


A baby has died after suffering a cardiac arrest at their home in Southport yesterday.


Emergency services were called to a home on Viking Close in Southport on Tuesday afternoon. The Air Ambulance landed close by in Compton Park and the baby was then airlifted to Ormskirk Hospital.


A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following an incident yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 12 October.”


“At around 4.55pm, we received a report that a baby had suffered cardiac arrest at an address on Viking Close.”


“The baby was rushed to hospital but couldn't be saved.”

The baby sadly died at hospital.


Merseyside Police remain at the property this evening, Wednesday 13th October as routine enquiries into the death are carried out as per normal procedures.
