A busy night for Community Police with a car seized, 17 year old detained and 4 teenagers arrested

Update from the late shift of the Southport Community Team last night. (Wednesday 5th January).
Two men wanted for multiple shop thefts in the town were located by PCSO’s. The two offenders were hiding in the public toilets on the Promenade, before being arrested.
A driver with no licence and no insurance was reported for the offences and the car was seized.
A 17 year old boy was detained after making off from officers on Bath Street. On initial search the boy was found in possession of 29 bags of suspected class A drugs. After his arrest, a more thorough search at custody resulted in finding the boys to be in possession of a large quantity of cash and a subsequent search of his home address resulted in finding significant quantities of cannabis resin, cannabis buds and suspected class A drugs.
Four teenagers were arrested after being found inside the old Homebase building on the Meols Cop Retail Estate.
