Man arrested on suspicion of fraudulent benefit claims in Southport. Following an ongoing investigation, Merseyside Police and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have today (29th May) jointly arrested a 40 year old man from Southport on suspicion of fraud by false representation. The man, who is suspected of claiming over £100k in fraudulent benefit claims has been taken to custody for questioning. Sgt Greg Quinn said: “Scammers are often very clever and can manipulate individuals as well as organisations for their own financial gain.
