CCTV images have been issued as part of investigation into armed robbery in Southport. Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following an armed robbery at a shop in Southport. Officers were called at just before 7.30am on Sunday 18 June to the Freshway General Store on Rufford Road to reports that two men had entered the premises. It is believed that one of the men was armed with a sword and one was armed with a handgun. The men left the shop with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The shop assistant suffered an injury to their face during the incident and has been left badly shaken up by their ordeal. An investigation is underway and detectives have issued images of a man who they believe could assist with their enquiries.
