Man arrested following an incident in Churchtown
Merseyside Police have arrested a man following an incident in a street in Churchtown in the early hours of Saturday (31 March 2018).
A report was received at about 2.45am that a woman in her 40's was on Moss Lane with an injury to her face. She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
A 44-year-old man from Southport was arrested on suspicion of Section 47 assault and taken to a police station to be interviewed. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Judith Blease said: "We believe this incident is domestic related, and are appealing for anyone who might have walked past a man and woman in the Moss Lane area or seen anything unusual to contact us."
"We are exploring CCTV opportunities, and if anyone has dashcam footage from the area in the early hours of Saturday or their own CCTV I would urge them to get in touch."
